It does seem some comedians are working or trying to work out their depression through trying to make others if not happy, laugh or be amused. One can imagine the pain that comes afterwards.

He continued to do some stand-up, so in that sense he was a comedian. I had always considered him a 'comedic actor,' especially when you see his movie resume´. But, when the scene and/or movie called for it, he could be quite serious as well. Although it supposedly bombed at the box office, my favorite movie performance by Williams had always been his first movie . . . Popeye! I don't believe anyone else could have pulled off that role. A sad day indeed. He will be sorely missed . . .

I look at those beautiful eyes, consider the brilliance behind them, and remember how much I have enjoyed his talents through the years. So sad that it is over, for him and for us.

I've said for years
That he is one of the most under-rated actors of our time. Yes, he is/was a comedian but my goodness, he was so multi-talented and brilliant. It seems in many way, no matter how many incredible and nspiring roles, he never was acknowledged for being anything but Mork From Ork.
Each time there was a new dramatic movie with Robin Williams, I knew I was in for an evening of humor but some very serious afterthought.

I said to Wiley when the news came, I cannot stand a World without Robin Williams in it and he agreed. I am so sad.
