Although not a candy, Annicita, they too would have sent an interesting message . . .

Re:

I don't think, C C T, that the cleanliness of the streets ( by comparison or not ) is really much of an issue here, although you're right that people should be wary regardless! And 'catching them young' could very well have been their motive! But at this stage, I think this particular group would be happy to have any recruits in their midsts! Their overall concept has been on life-support for decades, and the sooner they disappear altogether, the better . . .

Re:

Needless to say, shamasehar, I totally agree. But for whatever reason, groups like these are still allowed to more or less flourish under this supposed democracy, until, as I wrote, they cross a certain line. But by then, it's usually too late. Believe it or not, we still have representatives for the Nazi Party here in the good ol' U.S.A., even though they've proven to be just as detrimental as the KKK! People want to believe in the concept of the lion and the lamb lying down together, but some lions are still much too vicious and full of hate . . .

Catch them young is all I think this suggests . I would be a bit wary of eating anything left on the street, but perhaps those streets are cleaner than ours.

It's fine to have groups and organizations(we have tons of them.A Democracy allows that freedom 😃)but what's important is their motive and operations, they can't be detrimental to general human well being and interest.

Re:

I know how you feel, Kabu, and you're right. These are just some of the contradictions our so-called Constitution allows for! Everyone supposedly has 'rights' in this country, no matter how ridiculous or detrimental, up until they cross a certain line. But, as long as the mainstream media continues to acknowledge these groups, they will continue to be somewhat significant in our society. Probably the best thing people can do right now is to ignore them completely . . .

Re: Jimmy

Strange indeed, Naut. And seemingly very contradictory! Something sweet being distributed by a group known for being acerbic! Something tells me that, no matter what, this ploy will probably fail miserably . . .

Re: JimmyA

You don't approve, Sir Wiley? What might they have left on the streets of Montreal to recruit new members? Kotton kandy perhaps . . . ?

Re:

Perhaps, TAPS, perhaps! Although, from what I understand, there's not a whole heck of a lot of candy corn fans out there! Maybe some kettle korn would do better! That might send a strange message too . . .

Re:

Weird indeed, lovelylady. If it had been almost anything other group looking for new members, it might actually be somewhat commendable. But with this group, it's almost like that creepy guy in a van rolling slowly down the street offering candy to schoolchildren. Hopefully, no one 'bites' . . .

Re:

That might be too good, FSI, and seem too generous coming from this particular group! I can only assume that their budget for candy is on a par with their budget for white sheets . . .

Re: Jimmy..suckers might have been appropriate...

Good response, Rumor! I wish I had thought of that! But 'white marshmallows' might send the same message . . .

Re: JimmyA

I suppose, Bill, that if one wanted to play a practical joke on this group with those treats, one would just have to remove all of the "K's" . . .
