Kabu, you sound like you live in an absolutely beautiful place. I love the thought of what seems to be all that country, farms, natural gardens... entrancing. Camalot. How I doth love the. LOL yeah no. My old English leaves much to be desired.

That is such a nice post. We have those beauties too. Like us we use no chemicals. Nothing had been grown on our property for 60 years except grass and roses on the lawn until we came here and we have added flowers, veggies and trees but no chemicals.

Wonderful it is that the old ways of farming are around in your area.

Perhaps there's wild milkweed in your woods and fields. Didn't

Naut say it was milkweed that allowed the Monarch to lay eggs and reproduce?  It's very rare to see more than one or two around here, but I bought a plant that is supposed to
attract them, and it's just about to bloom...

Probably be worth a fortune in 50 years time Kabu but it might take a hundred we bought some land 60 years ago and it has just about caught up with inflation. If I had been 50 years younger and no commitments I would have loved some wild country. Arthur says he would like to buy an island, just to own it I said a wood would be better. I think he meant a little island in the middle of a river with one willow tree in the center.
