They should exercise 'normal common sense', but that's in very short supply among today's parents, unfortunately, since many of them are 'victims' of a poor ubringing themselves...

When I found Charlie playing Grand Theft Auto,

everytime he ran over a policeman or old lady, I smacked him on the head.  And you can see how well he turned out.

 kids should play outdoors and sports and keep away from the electronic stuff and the TV.

Parents have to filter what their kids are watching, using parental controls online and with television. It is tough, though, when kids figure out ways to sneak around controls or their friends parents let them do it.
