I felt the same way once. After an extremely difficult period in my life ( chronicled in my book "The Hindering" ) I thought of moving to either Florida ( to be nearer to my parents ) or to Texas ( to be nearer to my older sister, whom I very close to ). But I hung in there, and I'm glad I did, otherwise I probably wouldn't have met my wife. Things happen for a reason . . .

Moving sometimes seems like the answer to problems, but it usually is not.

That was a great decision, problem with depression and most other things  we want to avoid, (Alcoholism for me years ago) is that the problem came with me.

One of these days the right girl is going to be there for you. Try to keep your options open. Girls want to find the right guy too...any girl that you choose is a lucky girl. Tell "em Auntie Kabu said so....and if they want reasons why, I can send them a big long list.

Sadly F.S at a certain age sensitive men are stricken after suffering

an emotional set back. You had one refusal and it really kicked the stuffing out of you. Woman are more adaptable they can change their feelings more easily.I hope no lady will be cruel enough to point out that some women have died of a broken heart, and that is true as well,  First love is a killer I know men who have never married because the fantasy of that first arousal never really dies. You were unfortunate but don't let it ruin your life if you desire children. I can now look back at the women I was attracted too in my mind they are desirable  but sadly not what I would choose if I had the chance again. Well perhaps one or two, I know what it is like to be turned down and not very sympathetically on occasions. I don't want to become depressed so I will stop now. Keep[ your chin up.

My destination changes, as does the time frame, but I understand the urge to move and the things that keep one in place.  Well written

Fsi, as the country song states, "drinking and dreaming, knowing dawned well I can't go..." But you can go. Just as soon as that last class is turned in. Phoenix is in need of young teachers with a lot of heart. You shouldn't wast your education and talent. But you could do all that right there in Baltimore.
