Although my wife and I aren't seafood eaters, I think I understand the basic symbolism behind eating it on Good Friday. However, as I've gotten older, I've gotten on the mindset that, I don't think God really cares what we eat and don't eat on this particular day. I believe this was a tradition someone came up with some purpose behind it many, many moons ago! And I've read and studied the Bible, and I don't recall reading anywhere when Jesus said to do this for any reason! So I say, eat what you want, and celebrate in any manner you wish . . .

Why eat at all, I don't do washing on Good Friday, I forget why probably it should have been call Bad Friday . Some see the good in everything.

All your seafood talk sounds very good.  Perhaps I'll open a tin of sardines tomorrow, and serve them with saltines.

I know what you mean about boiled fish! I can take it when it's cod, available these days only in the Maritimes, or else in a proper bouillabaisse...As to Good Friday, yes, it's kind of darkish...

Never mind all that fish, Grandmummy.  Just treat yourself and Poppy to anything and everything you like!  And have a Happy Easter.
