Thanks!
I am one of those too frightened to bring children into this world...But I applaud and thank those who look upon child rearing as a RESPONSIBILITY and not just another one of life's "must haves" like a new car, the best house or the latest craze (think DVD)!

I may come through this way again
Thank you for the nice article without any bad language. And this article made a lot of sense. I congratualate you for both things.(good sense and good language)
I think part of the problem is that the devil is having his hayday. and the 'Children are following him, like the pied piper.

Exactly...........
Exactly, you are dead on here. This is exactly what is happening and the results are the walking wounded children that have been abandoned by their parents, over and over again, while Mommy and Daddy are right there, infront of them -- the only conclusion these poor kids can come to for their parents desertion is there is something wrong with the kid. Ya know? No wonder these kids grow up and want something, ANYTHING to take away the pain.
This is exactly what happened to the Columbine killers, and probably to their bullies that bulled them, resulting in the killers being psychopaths and believing that murdering their peers was the answer. Something, ANYTHING to take away the pain.

I agree
It's right along the lines of when the parents of a typical 5 year old is put on drugs as if they are too hyper! How in the world can a 5 year old be diagnosed with ADHD?? Hey, just give 'em a pill. That'll shut him up. Less parenting necessary, right? It's sad. If ya don't want to be bothered, don't have kids! What a concept.

Part of the problem is exactly that - people *don't* raise their own kids
anymore. Kids spend more time with paid workers than their own parents every day. Yet try telling the average family that your child would really rather spend time with you rather than getting a new SUV or better cable channels. It's almost sacrilege to the feminist movement to suggest one of the parents stay home and raise the kids.
I never went to day care - not one day. My mom stayed home with us until I was 11 - by 13, I was babysitting, so I didn't need to be watched. That's one of my requirements for the man I marry - he must be someone who will happily provide for the family while letting me raise our kids OR VICE VERSA. I have no problem with a husband who stays home, as long as he does a good job and is faithful.
