I am so sorry. That would be terrible. You are better than I, cry I would have but I would have thrown stones at the taxi and any other thing I could have gathered. You need a gun.

I definitely know how that feels. When I was in Madrid watching the street gypsies dance and play, someone reached into my open bag and took everything important, even my passport. That was a mess to straighten out. A couple of wonderful people helped me immensely. I didn't cry, but I felt like it.

So sorry to hear that! It's not only the loss of things - it's an assault on you as a person! I have never been mugged and hope I never will be, because my instinct would be to fight, with possibly serious consequences...

Poor A. I see there are straps with a metal cord inside. I don't suppose you will get the money back but hopefully the rest will be discarded. What a tragedy. Only good thing is you could have been slashed, it just shows how careful one must be when alone.
