Good post.  I used to ride horses before it started bothering my knees.  A couple of times I ended up with an unfriendly one who did things like trying to rub me off against the pine trees.  But, I've never eaten one--not yet.  I guess if I was hungry enough, I might eat most anything, but I haven't been that hungry yet.

I suppose we are inclined to feel sentimental about certain animals. We hardly give a thought to cows and baby calves as we pour milk into our coffee. I expect in time we shall be using more artificial sources of protein. Wild horses and camels are probably not the friendliest of animals and really should be culled humanely if possible rather than end hobbling around half starved. Not that I would wish to change from my Quorn pies as unsubtle as they are .

are we so hungry that we need to eat horses cats dogs monkeys ....I am a total sentimentalist and proud of it and I only eat the meat that grows on trees. Naut. told me about meat like that.

I agree, as I'm sure my wife would too! There are so many other choices for consumption other than those beautiful horses! Like you, I would no sooner eat a horse than I would a dog or cat! Are people still this barbaric?
