Re:

Hi annicita... true.  And I am glad she is still here, we have heart-to-hearts that are very valuable to me.  She loves all her girls, and we mostly appreciate that.  xx

Hello trusted servant... thank you for your good wishes... Mum is just fine, she has justbought a resin model of a seated labrador for the front doorstep.  I never know what she is going to say or do next.

Hello C C T ... sadly, it has blown off again.  All my seeds have been rained on throught he gaps in the wooden roof and gone mouldy. I have a feeling it is time to get rid of the shed and get a new one.

I know kabu... how easy it is to be 'wise after the event'!!  Boyfriend and I are ok..ish... he will occasionally refer to me as (something like) the 'present girlfriend'.. to which I say, he is welcome to trawl E-harmony if he wants to ... I guess my forthcoming surgery and temporary dependence will be interesting...!

moms worry no matter how old you are...it's genetic...be grateful that you have one who still cares and worries (even though it might be needlessly)

Well I would just phone and say it is alright Mum. I used to have aprox 1000 square feet of felt on roofs. The early stuff had asbestos combined and should never have been burnt. It was a nightmare in high winds. There is some decent stuff around now but the cost is high.

Oh dear...when will you learn to keep Mum about what you are up to...she does sound lonely and of course she doesn't have enough to keep her busy and it can be difficult. Glad the reunion went well. Wiley and I worry about you Y' know

I would say that would be naughty.

It sounds as if perhaps your mother is lonely, or perhaps it's her way of still feeling useful by telling you what to do.  I can tell you are exasperated by it.  I'm kind of grinning because women often turn out to be a lot like their mothers with their own offspring.
