i don't imagine too many would think of paying for a car wash with a 100 bill

I pay little attention to the details. I just spend using the card these days for convenience. When I worked in retail and finance counting bills, I guess I was more aware when balancing!

FSI

Here in Canada we're also getting new hundred-dollar bills, and lower denominations as well. I believe. And apparently they're no longer made of paper, but some kind of synthetic stuff...

I wouldn't even know what a Cdn. hundred dollar bill looks like...

Haven't handled currency that high since I worked in insurance...now I wouldn't have a clue what your U.S. $100. bill looks like.....

I've seen them too, and they are beginning to look less and less like proper currency, and more and more like Monopoly money! But if the new features thwart the counterfitters, then they are doing their job . . .

Yes, we had a few of them the other day, they are different, and they remind me of all the printing of money this country is doing (85 billion a month on top of the three trillion we have already printed) to pay for our own debt, sort of like paying off your credit card with another credit card.

Yes seems to show money is losing value. Once FS one was sometimes asked to sign a five pound note. It was one of those crazy idea , I cannot remember who it was ,some celebrity passing through and I heard he was quite indignant when asked by a shop assistant to do so.
