Re: JimmyA

No, the cost would be the same. In fact, using credit/debit can be cheaper since cash is using quarters. For example, someone who spends $4 in cash might have only needed $3.80.

Would there be a difference in the cost between paying cash and using a credit/debit card, like at some gas stations?

formerstudentintern, thanks for all the comments... they mean a lot to the blogit community. as for the car wash business it must be pretty exciting to hear your dad looking to bring on some improvements like with the debit/credit and change/bill dispensers. this is good for all of us. i finally self washed my car recently after owning it since the end of may. it wasn't too dirty but needed it nevertheless. i moved as fast as i could and got it all done in one cash entry which i forget how much it was. seemed reasonable to me. i liked the way my car looked when i was finished.

taking cards is good and I love when the wax at our wash place comes out those different colors. You make me want to wash the car and I suppose I should.

Re: C C T

The answer for most is no. The way that the pricing works, though, is that a customer pays a monthly fee for what would normally be a handful of washes a month. Therefore, if one uses the car wash those handful of times, it can pay for itself. Basically, for the business, it's like an all you can eat buffet. Some people are certainly going to eat more than what they paid, but most are going to stay within what they paid.

Now you have me thinking about making some kind of improvement around here.  I'll have to look around and think about that.  I don't want to overwhelm myself by trying to execute too many all at one time.

inprovements are always a good idea,  the car wash club sounds like a good idea, how about a card where they get it punched and after so many they get a free car wash
