I think he DOES know and I think he IS pleased. I believe that our loved ones stay with us...even after they've departed...

And at the time it was quite unbearable. He was on his way to get me for the homecoming so I always kind of blamed myself. I now know that somehow fate protected me and I wasn't in the car and I am lucky for that but still...

This kind of sad incident floats around in the mind and you being young at the time must
have found it pretty unbearable, some young people do have this awful feeling. I am sure that young man would have been pleased to know that you thought of him after this time.
