Ciel

I've read Michael Shermer for years, and have always regarded him highly. Among other things he's the founder and editor of Skeptic Magazine, the latest copy of which is sitting right here on my desk. But while I share his views on the importance of the scientific approach to the world, it pains me that I must tell you I think he's a bit of a sleaze, having recently been plausibly accused of rape...

Re: Kabu,

I agree!

I hope your back is better.  Maybe you can get some of your gnome friends to march up and down, and massage happiness back into that spine!

Re: JimmyA,

We aren't always on the same page, you and I, but in this, we are definitely on the same page, and reading the same book!

Re: FormerStudentIntern.

I rather hope he starts a new direction for Libertarians to choose.  Reformed Libertarian?

Re: CCT,

My views are pretty much in line with the article's author's views.  I find both major parties distressingly focused on demolishing each other, rather than the problems that beset actual people, and the Libertarians narrow-minded and impractical.  Until now.  Maybe there is hope with them, if those very individualistic minds are opened, to allow in people not like them.

I think there will always be conflict between what people believe, and what science proves to us. I think that, regardless of the various issues involved, if the human race could exercise just a little more common sense, and common decency, these debates would be pointless and unnecessary . . .

A very interesting article. Something tells me he is not going to be a Libertarian much longer.
