We have this outfit here that specializes in a variety of contraptions for older people or those with handicaps, and you might find something suitable for Mom on the 'net! I certainly hope things work out for both her and you, in spite of 'old issues'...

You might be able to get a seat to fit on your existing toilet. It would be a lot nicer for all concerned although one soon gets use to handling  things it is surprising. I have done quite a bit of home nursing and one soon adapts. We have a carers allowance here it helps those who have to spend time with less able folk. I expect you have both changed over the years. At least it might be nice to feel you have offered, even though as you say it probably will not happen.

Our sky in Baltimore was like that today...The camp toilet sounds like a great idea.

My friend's mother, who is wheelchair-bound, uses one of those "seat with legs" set up over her toilet, and it seems to be working just fine. She needs some assistance of course, but it's a hell of a lot easier for her than just the toilet alone. Best of luck . . .

It could be a last chance to resolve old issues...but only you could decidethat....Re her potty problems...Sis should be able to get a commode chair for her...sometimes the Pharmacy or hospitals will hire them out.

Maybe she can bring a TV with her. It may not be the cable or

satellite she's used to, but maybe the local channels will work for her temporarily. It would be most inconvenient to have no flush...

It looks like it's going to be awhile before their services are restored. I guess your sis is able to get out of where she is if she is asking to bring your mom; some people are still stranded without roads, bridges, etc. I think you are right - it may be a good thing to settle those issues now.
