I can certainly understand the appeal! I have driven through the Canadian Rockies twice - to Vancouver and back, and it was magnificent. And there were fun experiences - for example in Radium Hot Springs I'd dash across the street from the hotel in the morning and plunge into one of the hot pools before breakfast...And once, when in Portland, a few of us took a small plane to look at the gaping side of Mt. St. Helens...But I have always thought that I'd find it difficult to live in the mountains, because I would always be in some valley, and I'd miss the wide horizon of the sea...

Oh you must go ride that tram! You simply must! I loved seeing Mt Ranier from Seattle... just spectacular... but to see the view from up there.....

Yes... you must

I'm not for heights, but love my mountain. It was the one thing I found that so wrong with Edmonton, Alberta, when I went out there for work. It was so flat...I found it boring....

Ciel     I must now reveal my weakness for flat areas of land. The flatter the better. Unfortunately, I lived on an old stone quarry in fact this one stretches for half a mile, I suppose most of the old houses around here were built from Cotswold  stone. Not any longer it would be too expensive.

Of course no one remembers, I mean one cannot look underground whereas a mountain has its own signature.  Enjoy the view.

You may have written this for CCT, but it's a treat for me, too.

Thanks!
