Good for you!
You're all talking about behavior that's clearly inappropriate if not abusive, and that, in a way, is almost more important than the criminal charges or possibility thereof. BTW, the Aussie government is quoted as saying they're not going to charge him with anything (what I think of that idea is not printable in a public forum).

Steve Irwin

is an absolute idiot! Over here in Aussie he is not praised for his antics....... what surprises me is that he has recently been in a few commercials - why i ask?  And while i'm bitching about steve.... most of the time he doesn't put himself in harms way, and i do know animal behaviour.  Somtimes he does stupid, really stupid things, but most of the time the shots we see are staged.  The only reason steve is anything is because of his wife!  The four week old baby - maybe his ratings are down!  Hope he gets charged with something (then his commercials will be pulled too)

To put yourself in harm's way is one thing...
to put your child in harm's way is another, especially when they're underage (and I'd call four weeks underage). Thanks, everyone, for commenting.

Agreement right back atcha

I live in the UK, and Irwin's been a big noise here for a while. The thing is, he puts himself in harm's way voluntarily, and gets paid a fortune I imagine, but to drag his kid in for publicity, or because in his weird parental values culture it's meant to be educational, is appalling. Equally bad was his wife not only not condemning his madness, but actually defending it. That child will one day look back at the film of the incident and see both his parents behaving in that way.

Thanks for your feedback. I added you to my faves, and I hope you check back at Stream of Consciousness often. cmqp
