Wow

How terribly rude! Talk about making a bad first impression with your new family...

What a dirty scam, nice and civil people get played all the time as I know from experience.  I am glad it all went well and the dinner was a good celebration.

You are one lucky girl!

To have a jerk like that in the rear view mirroris worth every dime.

My first ex pulled a stunt like that when I hosted our daughter's graduation dinner - he came up in plain sight of everyone and announced he wanted to pay half the bill (which was over $200) and handed me a twenty. I told him it wasn't necessary that this was my treat, but he insisted, thinking no one else would know how much money he handed me.  I thanked him and gave the money to our pregnant granddaughter and said get your baby something from grandpa... To which she said sarcastically, 'wow, twenty bucks! That's gonna buy a lotta diapers.'

Bit of a scoundrel, isn't he? I'm sorry you got stuck with that, Sam. Like Dancin Grandma, I'd have been tempted to take the man aside and claim at least his round he had ordered for all!! I'm not surprised about the airporr problems. They make travel so difficult nowadays! A Harley, you say??

I think you handled it all very well! I would have been tempted to get her father aside afterward. Looking forward to hearing more!

what rats some people are and of course you don't want to upset the young couple...try to keep everything as low as you can from now 'till closing and beyond love.
