we fill out the paperwork for his visa and sent it off in july....waiting with our fingers and toes crossed...not easy to walk that way

I knew and felt, that despite his flaws, there was some good about Mubarak. The Arab countries can be horrible with women, and for that matter the U.S. Your husband seems to be above a lot of their thinking.

in some ways he is very progressive and others not so much...no i dont cover my hair at all....yes it is against their religion but the religion is what drives them to do these things....kind of a conundrum

The treatment of women in Alexandria (and the rest of Egypt) doesn't surprise me! Muslim immigrants to Europe have introduced the same conditions there...We haven't seen it here in Canada yet - I guess their numbers aren't large enough yet...

it is totally barbaric to me...and must be against their feligion surely.. Do you cover your hair while you are out and about over there? It seems as though your husband is very different to a lot of the men.
