when i was in dc these huge birds came swooping down right over my shoulder....freaky and nice at the same time

Do you know Marris I don't think I have seen a swallow this year, There used to be hundreds I wonder if the old roosting places have gone or even the traffic passing older buildings where they used to build. Like your poem. If you were a cat I would adopt you.
