From a cat's point of view it is just prey, The poor bird should never have built in a such a vulnerable position. I would have felt like , well never mind.

This is so very good. We have lost our concept of nature to some degree because of our great love for our pets. Your son is teaching a good lesson. I think his Mom taught a lot of good ones.

This reminds me of a cat my daughter had long ago who used to leave birds and squirrels on the doorstep for us. When I complained about him killing these poor creatures, she said, "Mom, he's a cat. That's his nature."

yeah Nature is harsh and I feel for those little Grandbabies. I see it here all the time and my heart bleeds and I am supposed to be a big person so I can understand the difficulty for those little people...and the parent bird too of course.
