Re:

Hahaha! Sorry, TAPs! I was going to use "Unicorn", but thought it was a bit silly. Bazinga is from the Big Bang Theory (my favourite TV sitcom)! Nothing improper, I promise!!

I had to google Bazinga to make sure it wasn't something improper before deigning to use it myself, not having seen or heard it before.

Things were much simpler when we bought our house in 1960.   In today's world, it is just about that bad signing a new lease each year for apartment living.

SCARY...personallity is not as important in this line of work so much as being competent...i could hardly believe my eyes where you arote that she suggested just spending loan money like loose change. Glad to read that you two are so smart.

It must be a sign of the times. I have purchased more than one house and never had such problems as Sam or you. Maybe the bankers were better trained then? Or just more efficient?

A valuable, and terrible, lesson to be learned. Sounds a lot more involved than I would ever want to go through! And hey, rookie mistakes are very common. I understand your appreciation of Crystal taking the time to know her clients personally, but perhaps if she paid more attention to the paperwork and less time discussing her up-coming wedding, you would have been in better shape . . .

Both you and Sam have been through quite the ordeal there. I was lucky in that my aunt agreed to hold the mortgage at my house.

Sadly there is no friendship in business.Even the solicitors seem jovial when making a will, which I hope you and your hubby will do, it does not make you die any faster.

You are so right, too many put too much trust in the (so called) professionals and never read anything. The only thing they see is the prize at the end of the banks rainbow...You and your hubby did very well.

Mia

I'm glad that things worked out for you in the end! I am well aware of the need for 'due diligence' in these matters, but I must confess that lack of patience has sometimes get me into unsavory stews as well...
