I really hate to see a really good teacher leaving the profession. Good teachers are so needed, and make a wonderful life-long impression on a child. I am 75 years old and still remember each of my gradeschool teachers and what I liked about them.

You capture the difficulty of saying goodbye well...I always found the end of the school year to be a bittersweet time, bitter in the sense that I may not see those people again but sweet in the excitement of moving on.
