My best friend forever...

This was a horrible teacher!  Makes me sad the child had to endure this.

This happens more than most realize. Not only is the child harrassed at school, it starts with bullying parents or one bully parent and the other passive and allows it. The sad thing is that is was not recognized back then as information is available not to identify and do something to stop it and help the one who needs it.

I look forward to reading the remainder of your story. Good post.

I always looked out for those who had no friends, those kids the other kids picked on, at least when they were with me they were safe from the harassment.

Kabu

This makes me want to cry. Teachers who would do this to the child makes my heart shrink. I am looking forward to the finish.

These days some schools have specialists who work with kids like

her who learn differently. Clearly she wasn't being helped.

Both my father and sister hated going to go albeit for different reasons...Reading about E. reminds me of stories of children who had dyslexia before it was understood, and school ended up being a miserable experience because of what teachers and their peers would say...I look forward to reading the next installment.

Oh, Grandmummy...This story makes me ache for your friend E.!  Those teachers should have been punished for treating her in such a disgusting fashion.  I understand what she must have felt like...

I can't do math, either.  Even the simplest of math.  Never have been able to, never will be able to.  I honestly believe that it's because of the part of my brain that was injured.

Because of the injury, I'm also unable to read or give directions.  It's horribly frustrating for me, and I sometimes get laughed at over it.

A teacher of mine-who I loathe to this day-once told me I was being lazy because I just couldn't figure out a math problem.  I wanted to slap her across the face, but didn't.

Please would you email me again?  I kept trying to reply to yours, but it keeps getting sent back to me!

I love you.  And I love E...

The teacher sounds particularly dumb and worthless.  How horrible to treat a child with a learning disability that way.
