I am not familiar with what this is, although it sounds like some form of manmade engineering. It sounds bad for the farmers, I hope they can recover.

yes...there was a documentary about monsanto and the seed it sells....apparently it's being "found" in fields that are not even planted with it...farmers are given ways to recognize GMO crops

It seems that there have been deliberate mix ups with the aim of spreading GM seed - after all if it's all GM then everyone has to pay to grow it and you can bet that it will push out the natural crops.
