I think perhaps that people simply create their own reality, a kind of bubble.  What happened here was appalling, and thankfully there has been a happy release.  Let's hope the young women and the little girl can get on with their lives in peace now.

Someone should have entered that boarded up house a long time ago when reports were called in and made through the years.  The psychos can get away with it if people let them.

I think things aren't helped in that a lot of the traits shown in cases like these are ones lauded by society, only taken to extremes.  I can't help but wonder if we dont' make the monsters ourselves

HORRIFIC!
I agree. It is a horrible prison after doing no wrong. I hope just is swift.

I cannot fathom being held against one's will and the perp knows all the ins and outs of their criminal behavior! Scary, indeed! sam

This is so sad. I don't even know how to talk about it. Thank you for your post.

Yes, they know how the laws are structured and know how to get around them, thus preventing their acts from being proved.

I'm sure there are more people out there like that than we can even imagine.  Too bad that parents have to be so on guard that they cannot even relax and enjoy their children's activities, or let their children be free to be children.

This almost seems to fall under the category of schizophrenia, some internal conflict between right and wrong, the stereotypical "angel & devil" sitting on one's shoulders. Sometimes the "good" wins out, sometimes the "bad" wins out. But in either case, there has to be a conscious involved, and sometimes people are somehow able to simply squash those thoughts, and allow the "devil" to reign supreme! How that exactly works I honestly don't know, because I do have a conscious, and I do know right from wrong! This is one of those personality struggles that unfortunately has been going on for eons . . .
