I don't even know where to begin with a story like this! First of all, I think women in high heels is ridiculous in the first place! They don't look comfortable, it's obvious the women are having difficulty walking, and I know they're going to pay for it later in life, forcing their feet, ankles and calves to adjust to a position their feet, ankles and calves were never suppose to be in in the first place! But having women wear high heels in the military is even more ridiculous! Yet another example of the continuing downward spiral of our society . . .

That is an interesting read there. I did not know that was the footwear worn...I echo Xeno's sentiments.

Re: lustor

later in my career in downtown new york, i would commute in tennis shoes and put my heels on when i got to work, by then it was too late to save my feet.

Re: Since my retirement, my "uniform" includes jeans, loose shirts

pat, oh my gosh, lol girdles, hadnt thought of them in years, lmao.  or garter belts, giggles.  yes, i were scrubs to work but then pedal pusher and tees at home.  tennis shoes or barefooted.  i try to remember to take my shoes off when hanging my clothes on the line.

Re: cc

when we are young we want to be like everyone else, when older we realize the cost of that.  my uniform now is scrubs and comfortable shoes at work and pedal pushers and tees with tennis shoes, but when i hang my clothes on the line the footwear changes to barefoot, since i read we should connect our body with the earth at least 10 minutes each day.

Re: dancin

you are like me, to bad we didnt think of old age, lol. i doubt women are issued anything but combat fatigues and boots today.  we were issued suits with skirts.

Re: annicita

i worked in communications in the army, switchboard and teletype, so did not have to stand all day, but did not realize it would ruin my feet later on.

Since my retirement, my "uniform" includes jeans, loose shirts

and what we used to call tennis shoes. Flats. and in the house, flip-flops.  I do still have one pair of heels I wore in the office. Didn't like the girdles either.

I love "power heels"

But in my career ...I can't wear them.

Not natural JS. But that's life in the fashion lane. I think I will walk around in a space suit

it might take on if it is primed to react to weather conditions.

I see women all over our little Army town in fatigues and combat boots. They probably wear high heels with their dress uniforms. I wore high heels all through my career until the company relaxed the dress code to allow business casual for management. I was styling then but am paying for it now!
