well cc is probably right, they have probably become home dwellers and are quiet diffenent now, as we all evolve and change.

i would see their wagons when i visited the uk just a few years ago, and the old fascination and longing to wonder came right back.

They intrigue me a lot...I have never come across a Gypsy.

I didnt know much about gypsies it was just a group of people travellers

That sounds good to me too. I think, at one time or another, everyone wishes ( or wished ) that they could at least fly. But I know that if I could, I would never eat so much grain that I couldn't fly again! Who would ever want to see a fat bird?

When I was a boy we had an encampment of gypsies two minutes walk away. Some of the descendants  have now become house dwellers and have forgotten their roots I would assume. Believe me JS you would not have wanted to have been a gypsy for long. It was just your wandering spirit calling, incidentally my father was a blood brother to a gypsy.
