School here mostly starts at around 9am... I was always tired as a kid and I see lots of tired looking kids today.  My reasons were all books and I'm sure there's are no better.  As far as I can see, starting school at 07:20 makes no difference to anything other than how easy is it for parents to get their children to school before work.

FSI

I found it difficult getting 5 kids off to work and school by myself alone

rather than worrying about the start time kids need breakfast to wake up

and be able to learn properly. I bet most of those that are not performing are in need of food. A free nutritional breakfast would really help. Families, with everyone rushing off early and running late and all...they forget to eat properly. And yes, It does take real discipline for parents for themselves and their children to get to bed on time and up on time. Good post and sorry I sort of got onto my soap box here....oooops.

It might make it very tough on working parents to get their kids to school! But, whatever improves academic performance I am all for it! sam

Very interesting.  I can see both pros and cons to the subject matter.  It will never be easy to get kids to school on time, and ready to work, no matter what time they start.
