There is a total lack of responsibility in the minds of those making such irresponsible ones as I have seen. Than you for posting this.

These commercials, the suicide and Terre's voice box removal currently belong in the doctor's offices. Some of us eat in front of the TV, and need escape. There are other opportunities for information.

Deep Thinker

Sometimes, The media creates things that are designed to pervoke thought maybe that is what the director was going for.

Besides, if thhe commercial prevents just one person from taking their own life then i have no problem with it.

sorry for double comment

I have not seen it

but I always think about ending my life... Why? I have a family that always hated me because they abused me and set me up with people who would abuse me, then blame me for that abuse. The reasons that I heard was I was a bad seed, Satan spawn, and nothing was ever good about me.

I have not seen this particular commercial, but the concept sounds frightening. What the heck could they possibly hope to "sell" with an idea like that? I've actually stopped watching commercials a long time ago. I find them annoying, intrusive and intelligence-insulting, and none of them have ever persuaded me to purchase their products or use their services. Yes, the "dumbing down" of America continues, and TV commercials are some of the biggest culprits . . .

BIGINKDOT

{Listen I support the current efforts of the Ford Motor Company to take over sponsorship on TV. In example The Big Bang Theory recently opened with the cast, introducing their show in 50s and 60s style for Ford. Sponsorship changed with spot commercials, dominating with the FCC, allowing cancer hospitals, law firms, handling lethal side effects of prescription drugs, and prescription drugs to advertise on TV. Now this suicide commercial is another depressing presentation that belongs in the patients’ doctors’ offices. They refer patients to the right specialists, medical centers, services, and prescribe drugs. These medical related businesses pay for the commercials with exuberant prices that need expensive health insurance down the line. So I agree with you but am a media major with this thesis.
