Here is to hoping that Archie's fortunes change...Money has quite the big impact...The poem developed very nicely, I say.

Maybe Archie and Bess could get together and . . .

Well I understand that wardens are paid partly on how many tickets they write...

Re: ChiffChaff

Many thanks Wiley. He will ask me if he is desperate. He still has franchise business settlement money to be returned. It might be better for him in the long run, I could visualise him keeling over, running all night and not taking any nourishment.

Re: I feel so sorry for Archie, he can beat this ticket ...and good on him for

Well he will put up a good fight Kabu it is the principle. What is the use of coming to inspect cars  six hours after on a two hour slot. Well you see it is a main street, but it would always be used for shoppers. Everything has to be carried in through the front door.

Re: CCT...Rumour

I suppose they have to get a quota or get moaned at by some fanatic. Have you not got a badge to allow parking? Always limp if you have.

Re:Adnohr

Archie is resilient Adnohr but I think his wife feels the strain. Archie was in the employment office and he said a woman was claiming for everything even her mobile phone. He has to find three sources of rejected employment each week . He said he is putting me down as one.

Re: IPat

It does not endear one to the authorities does it Pat, Well  the web was always there, it just takes age to realise how to manipulate it prudently  and not get tangled in one's own thoughts.

I hope Archie wins and the traffic warden has to quit bothering people like him that may seem like easy marks.  Your poem about the working girl was so poignant, also the one about the lost love.  Life can have it's mistakes and regrets and those were well done.

CCT

Traffic Warden? I thought you had meter maids over there, usually named Rita, of course...But no matter, I do hope Archie gets out of that undeserved ticket...Poor Bess' career seems to have stalled; and your poem, as so often, speaks of familiar regrets...

I'm pulling for Archie's victory, and wishing it were possible

for a person to be compensated for his time when such a ticket is proved wrong. I know, if wishes were horses, we'd all take a ride.

Somehow when I read your tales of the old days and your poems, I long to be of courting age again and live near a meadow. Woven webs, indeed!

Good for Archie! He can fight and win that and just maybe mention that the ticket agent should be warned not to waste the county's money by having people in court for no reason!! Unfirtunately the difficulties described by Bess still exist in this day and age, although there is more help available than she would ever have found. More longing in the poem...the dreams must be sweet!

CCT...

Your traffic wardens sound like our meter maids.  They're always around when you need change to park for a doctor's appointment or need to run into a store to pick up a needed item.  I've seen them hover around a meter that was about to expire, and have come close myself to getting a ticket...

I wish Archie lots of luck finding another job....

I feel so sorry for Archie, he can beat this ticket ...and good on him for

intending to do so. I find it odd that people who live in the street aren't given a ticket of exemption so that they may park outside their own home.
