I want to know less of what people think after my experiences here. It can be a blessing not to know and to have some harmony and peace in life.

So difficult it is to figure out what another person is thinking...I like the conclusion to the second poem.

Re: Pat.
I expect we do it to conform Pat , as humans I suspect we pretend at times, or the quarreling would be intense. Well and good for you to have written 6 books, the publishers want celebrities even if it is rubbish it is money. money, money. Most things in this day and age are fixed.

Re:
Well Adnohr I was in a little group once , I thought my cousin was a part of it and then as I looked more closely I could see I had made a mistake, it felt strange disengaging myself from the dull conversation . I have never found the absence thing worked, but you might have have a stronger visual input.

My favorite was the Oddmets and the favorite line: I feel there should be a long unending shelf on which most events should be placed outside memory. I could remember things better I am sure if I had advantage of that long shelf.

Well, it turns out that adnohr had the same thoughts I had about Sally, but she was here first, so I won't go there again, LOL. And Oddments is pleasantly odd...

With Sally, it seems to be a case of absence making the heart grow fonder, at least on the poet's side? And oh my, but I so understand the predicament of the second; those utterly dull and l-o-n-g gatherings with the so very proper small talk...and you're wishing that a someone would do something, anything, to interrupt the boredom of yet another stagnant group....

The hearts of distance..Nicely done, CC..
The pondering of oddments is thought provoking too! But I must admit to being clueless about the meaning of "blancmange"?

So many questions, so little time.
I used to wonder about certain boys the way you do about this girl or that. I have formed conclusions based on little or insufficient evidence. I admit I don't understand them all, but if the joke delights someone else and they laugh, I cannot help joining in. :)
