I look outside at the Chickadees feeding and shake my head in wonder.

Then a black grossbeak I think, came for feed and was wet through. Had a snow bath it seems. I was shivering just watching it. LOL

  Perhaps the little ones huddle together at night when it is very cold, I know they seek shelter in the ivy in one of my trees, so I do not cut the roots. If you watch them in the cold weather they puff out their feathers as a kind of insulation. Nethertheless it is a hard life especially as cats chase them by day.
