I guess so, but my sympathy is somewhat limited - he has plenty of compensation after all

Re: UtahJay

Thanks Jay, I wasn't intending to comment on the rich so much as the politicians.  The rich are honestly what they are and they pretend to nothing else, my poem was meant to highlight those politicians who promise so many things and then fail to deliver any of them.

Re: Kabu

He's not terribly glamourous is he?  That said he is quite socially aware considering he has lived in the lap of luxury his entire life

Re: FormerStudentIntern

Not at all, I think, normally the process of power ensures that those who rise to it are unlikely to alter anything significant

I love the poetry Lion, I find you a very talanted poet, but I know quite a few wealthy folks who work very hard for their money and they share a large part of it, but even all of it would not go around. Over here contrary to what many believe the top 5 percent pay over 90 percent of all taxes, the lower 47 percent pay no taxes. The wealthy give billions to charities world wide. I only make one thousand $1000.00 a month and give 13% of it 130.00 dollars, to charity plus my work for the food bank where I find millionaires joining in the helping side by side with the homeless. It is something that I believe we all must do...Even the poor, like me, can lend a hand or spare some change. I don't mean to preach, I know what you are saying, I used to say it too. I just wish that everyone could be a part of the solution. There is so much that needs to be done that we cannot wait for the government to take care us anymore...We must begin to take of each other. Over here the government pays over 60,000.00 dollars for ever person below the poverty line. If they would just give that cash to each poor person the problem would be solved. It's as if they need the poor for votes or something.
