I agree 2, 3, even 400%! I look back on my childhood years and think how much differently children today are being raised. I grew up watching bloopers, Smothers Brothers, etc. Clean humor overall, but good humor--and often humor you need a brain to understand. Today EVERYTHING is sexual or related to bodily functions, as you indicate.
I hate to admist it, but my boyfriend is guilty of using and appreciating this "foul" humor. Anytime someone burps, he replies "You just cheated your ass out of a good fart." He thinks the Man Show is one of the best things ever. He likes the comics who use stupid humor (Jim Carrey, etc). But to give him some credit, he is a VERY smart man.
Still, I fear raising a child in the world in which we live. I don't want my child to act like most people today act. I want my child to think for him/herself, have a brain that is more than mush, etc.
You raise some really great points, editormum.
