Bromeliad
bromeliad (br-ml-d)
Any of various tropical American plants of the family Bromeliaceae, most of which are epiphytes. They usually have long stiff leaves, colorful flowers, and showy bracts. The bromeliads include the pineapple, the Spanish moss, and numerous ornamental plants.

No, dear heart, the word is Bromeliad; not Bromide...
I just like the 'sound' of the word...like I like the 'sound' of your voice...nothing ulterior or psychological about it. Bromeliad...a green plant, leafy most of the time, but then may suddenly just BLOOM all for the darn, heck of it...

Well of course to psychoanalyze you I had to look up why you thought was a nice word. I noticed bromide was a trite statement to soothe or placate, but could see nothing to soothe my anxiety. Congratulations on your rescue and your charming poem.
