These are interesting economic times indeed...The poem reminds me that you truly do have a way with words...

The goose well  I could do with a bit of goose grease . We have so many immigrants now Kabu, but they will do the work that the majority believes is beneath them. I can't see what will happen.

Re:Pat

Thank you Pat it is going to get worse, but I need not tell you that, I don't think we could have afforded a computer when we were young My mum had a fridge instead of a telivision when we could rustle the money together and used to search for bits of wood to light the fire.

Re: CCT

Well Arthur says  cockles swim and winkles are a different feeder I think. I suppose it is all there on Google but I might not fancy them if I delve too deeply.

Re:

Well Jay at least the poor are no worse off than the poor buggers who get the equivalent for paying in all there lives. That's here of course and what is so ridiculous pensioners get free this and that even if they are rolling in money.

Re:

Well try and get something that will appreciate in time Lion. Can you see enough enough money being collected to pay a decent pension in 30 years time. I agree it is a ropey deal, well stupid at the moment.10 years ago   the old chap over the road was awarded12%.

Now it hardly beats meagre savings.

Having watched pensions devalue I have taken the decision to not get one and to become a burden on the state when I retire.  The returns on a pension are so small given how much they demand from us that I see no value in getting one.

It is scary here in America when they say that by the time we retire the government won't have the funds to pay the social security. Hard to believe.

Hi CC, someday going by your poem - we might have a 3 in 1 ready made concoction for finding someone beautiful or filled with goodness. It made me smile - anyway I posted the poem and had a go at reposting the photo. Been really busy as I was away from work for a few days and then back to work and there was a landslide work to do..lol - well some of us are not so lucky like you CC and have to work for a living!

The pension cut is not funny - especially when we know how many young 'uns are lazing around and living off the taxes the workers are paying into the government, to keep them from revolting or thieving. I love the poem too - I like the way you play with words!!

I love the poem.
I think I will go read it again.

I really feel sorry for anyone retiring from this time foreward, unless of course they are independently wealthy and have no worries.

CCT

At some point the returns may be getting to the point that one might as well devest and just enjoy oneself, LOL...

And I don't know the difference between winkles and cockles either - gotta look it up...And finally, I really got caught up in the intriguing web of your poem, it's rich...

Oh, that return on investment seems meager, even insulting..

There's a move afoot here -- proposed constitutional amendment -- that would allow the state to cut pensions on state retirees, including teachers, firemen, policemen, who weren't exactly overpaid in the first place...  Loved the web, the metamorphosis in the market, especially the last line. Wow! :)

you had best stop following her around the supermarket, you may Morph.

into a Gnome....set in cement and taken to someone's home.

It seems as though the UK is in a really bad state finacially. I didn't know it was all that bad. You take care or you will be having to live off of yesterdays bread with the Goose.
