I've heard of a few inheritance battles that got rather ugly...

When my parents both died, everything was sold and the proceeds divided between six sisters.  There was no fighting, no animosity, but it made all of us sad for the house and the gardens and yards that we loved to go to someone else.  We each that are left, at times, drive slowly past the old place, and have loving thoughts and memories.

Divide equally it is the only way even if one likes one child more than the others, I will tell you a tale one day.

Re:

Whow! That was some example to set Jay . So sad when all this happens it is like siblings all turn into squabbling children. No wonder there are wars.

Re: Re: Re: Pat

OK dear, it was just  that I would hate to be boring, I don't really mind. I really put the poems in lest a person has no opinion on my first effort.

Re: Re: Okay, so much in one post, CC, it's hard to find a response to it all.

No, you are not writing too much, and I love re-runs anyway... Saffron? Oh, yes, that's so good for you.

I just don't want you to think I'm not paying attention
if part of your post I fail to mention...:)

I know what you say as I was the executor and mothers kids came and cleaned out the house. I could have sued, but I thought that bitterness would be more fun, so I sold the house for a dollar and sent them all a check for 12 cents. And know I'm told I'm going to hell, but it was worth it.

My parents left everything divided half each to me and my Sister

and their personal treasures we delighted in sharing. It was a help in dealing with the grief of losing them actually because we really loved our parents. The money was a very poor substitute. The few treasures that I have of theirs mean much more actually.

Re: Okay, so much in one post, CC, it's hard to find a response to it all.

I think by the price of the nuts there may be a shortage, I'll have to ask Femia if she has heard as she lives in California and a lot get shipped from there to here. I suppose the squirrels might find other food perhaps some peanut in shells. Although I think something ate all my crocus bulbs, you know the ones where one harvests the stamens I can't just think of the name, the product is used in cooking and very expensive , I shall think of it when I say goodnight but I'll come back and tell you. I might try some in pots in the greenhouse next year too late now. Pat do you think I am writing too much at a time on this blog the poems are nearly all rewrites I could just post one.Arthur just came down he knew of course SAFFRON.

Re:

What I knew Adnohr she wanted a little one. That was a good idea Adnohr, and if in the event that you need it all they will know that they could still love you for your generous offering.

Okay, so much in one post, CC, it's hard to find a response to it all.

First -- the huge walnut tree at the back corner of my lot has not produced a single walnut this year, and because of that, the neighborhood squirrels are giving my yard a big letting alone. I thought it was the mild winter-early spring-heat and drought - but maybe it's world-wide. I do hope there will not be a walnut shortage...

Secondly, where money is concerned, whether it's a young fortune or fifty bucks, there will be bitter debate over who gets what and who did more for the deceased. In my case, they're each wanting the others to get the small amount their dad left. I've never loved money, which is just as well since it doesn't stick to me. I know you miss your mother's place, but it would be a lot to manage these days. It's lovely that you share your memories and photos with us.

And last but not least, your ponderings on the mysteries of love continue to ring true.

I've seen families torn apart because of inheritance problems. It may sound macabre, but I already had my children meet and decide upon distribution of whatever I can leave them - with my input, of course, so that all is fair. They were ill at ease at first, but understood. Anyway, I'm the 'Godmother', so they had to meet as I dictated! And what was she deep within??
