911

I remember the exultation of that woman, laughing (a wierd, trilling noise) in the streets of her country and I was astonished that anyone could find a reason to laugh! Our country must never forget what happened that day.   It is so difficult to express something like 911 in writing.  Difficult to get the mind around the huge pain of it.  Good job with the poem.

Re: Powerful!

Thank you.  I think I finally got on paper what I saw and felt.

Re: I still feel sick when I think of those images. I sat up all night just

Certain few images were unforgettable, and this was on of them - one moment the building was there, and the next - it simply wasn't.

I remember how sad and dumbfounded I felt, How I just stared at the television hoping and praying for the people of New York, the firemen, and the police...and the children. And then they showed great celebrations in the streets of many Muslim countries burning our flags and the children were thrown candy as they laughed as the eye of the great Satin had been bloodied. Today the American embassy in Egypt and Libya were attacked and the US flag torn down and burned...And we send them smiles and dollars by the billions.

Such sad memories for all of us. It was a day that shocked the nation. Our sympathy goes to the families who lost their beloved ones.

I still feel sick when I think of those images. I sat up all night just

watching the TV in Australia.
