Revenge is sweet Jay, while so it seems, but this is coming to terms with something that was not your fault, sadly visions  persist and in the mix up of emotion one lies in the dark and fear persists. This is all well written and perhaps it will lay the ghost to rest. Good man

Very well crafted!  I can see where you're coming from, but sometimes I see the night coming, and say "Hullo, old friend".  It's a time to let your inhibitions go, and that's what I tell myself when those heebee-jeebeez start creeping up.

"A tender disorder" and "the first taste of light" imply to me that

the first taste of independence was growing sweeter even as the loneliness closed in.  As I remember it, that was a tough yet heady time.  I liked the poem very much.
