I am familiar with a number of breathing techniques and "mind over matter" exercises.  They really do work!  Thanks for the reminder.

my therapist taught me to put a phone book on my stomach so i would concentrate on breathing correctly....filling in down below instead of up and down.....i use it whenever i need to calm down

I can remember my brother saying that. It worked for him too most of the time.
