Re: I remember this as I read it I knew it was a repost for how could I forget

Thank you!  It's one of my favorites for the description and for the last line.  And every time I paddle through the shallows since then, I think of that line, "ponding lakeweed".

It's one of those poems I really like to re-read.

I remember this as I read it I knew it was a repost for how could I forget

something so fabulously real!!! Post it on this day every year because it deserves to be enjoyed each year at this time. No trying to be nice or anything, I really really love this.

Re: Re: Re:abstract

I figured it must have been something like that.  As for "abstract" art, you're not far off the money - "minimalism" is still in.  A NY museum considered an artist's offer of his work"35 Bricks" (composed, you guessed it, of 35 bricks) but rejected it, saying they could duplicate it for one tenth of the artist's asking price, and have one left over for a bookend.

Re: Re:abstract

LOL - of course not abstract, now that I get to read it. When I came onto your Blog last night (read 1:00 AM where I live), there was just the title of the post, but nothing else...no poem. (???) thus my poor attempt at a joke in the middle of the night. I really enjoyed it (once I could read it), as I enjoy al your posts. I've done kayaking - and you described the "skootching" perfectly!

Re: CC

I gave your plan serious consideration, but when I approached our water buffalo with it, the beast flatout refused to get involved.  He doesn't trust you.  Or me.

No I realised it was Kosha B0b the way you entered the water gave me the shivers.I would not want to buy a second hand rubber boat from you, off the top of my head you need some other method of taking to the water perhaps tie your raft to a waterbuffalo sit in it and once in the water release the safety belt. Having said that I thought it was one of your really good ones.

Re:abstract

Not really.  It's quite literal, actually. Maybe the problem was with the first few lines.  The whole process of getting into a kayak and "skootching" out to where it will finally float is a clumsy, noisy business - for me at least.

??. Is this like one of those abstract art things that I can never understand?
