Re:
Lol, Jay, do I smell a hint of sarcasm here? No, I was not implying, at all, that we should forget the law. I was making a statement about those people within the law who let power go to their heads and forget that they are dealing with human lives. I studied to be a paralegal and in the first book we studied in it states that justice is not balanced, the balance beams are always tilted to one side or the other. The other thing that was made perfectly clear in not uncertain terms was that in a courtroom setting, the most compelling thing a jury looks to are the lawyers, yes, evidence counts, yes, people view the evidence and try to apply the law, but it's the lawyer with the best acting skills that usually comes out the winner.

I agree. I come from a small town outside of New Orleans. A dying, Oilfield townthat has a lot of drugs and crime. At the same time it has a feel that I can only describe as Mayberry??? I've known lawyers who've become judges and over night become these DEMANDING, GOD-LIKE, figures that will throw the book at someone. It's true..Since most of these positions are voted-in positions, once in, its hard to take them out. So, they tend to run with it. All I can say is Kharma is a bitch and if you mis use it you will loose it.

Re: Law and order
Lol, just the rebel in me comin out, that's all. I really don't have anything against law and order, without it where would we be. I do, however, get a little miffed when people let power go to their heads and abuse their authority by letting personal issues cloud their "fair" and "just" judgment.

Law and order
Your picture would certainly suggest that kind of judge and legal systerm. My few brushes with it have been, on the whole, pretty satisfactory. I can't answer for others.
