Re: what a lovely tree it is something to be proud of. I have never tried

Kabu I shall not tell Arthur that . I want a bit of praise, he grumbled at me once for giving it some fertiliser. Oh the other well it can offer gentle appeasement if taking in small doses.

Re: CCT

Pannonian, if one goes to a garden centre and pays £30, I am sure you would get something bit smaller. I had forgotten once I kept several of these trees in prime condition.  I will now steer you into the murky ways of doing it on the cheap. I don't suppose you mind a bit of skulduggery. Pick a few flowers from your garden and proceed to the nearest cemetery, this is not the ideal time of year, but look carefully at the old cracked grave foundations, invariably a small tree will be just about surviving. Make a note  and in Winter return and wrench the tree from its hazardous positionn . You will have the perfect bonsai tree. It is not advisable to do this if the tree is growing in a wall, I speak from experience.

Re:

Well Taps she might like the iced lollies, I like the ones that are a bit softer, sticks of fruit flavoured  ice, perhaps she does not look in the kiddies selection. The winkles are another ball game, Although I have seen them in jars and now I bang myself on the head for not trying them. We use to so forward to them at the fairs. They were served on tiny white dishes soaked in vinegar and peppered, as far as know the only way of extracting them was with a pin. I think the olives are slightly more inviting these days. Can you imagine the old fair folk preparing them. I would still like to try them again, if I see any. I will wrap a few in a bag and poke a hand -full of flour down your sisters neck. Tell her that's what the young boys did at the fair to the lasses. A bit before my time, but I can imagine the feeling.

CCT

The tree seems big for a bonsai. Is it just the distorted perspective? What kind of tree? Always wanted a bonsai - so graceful.

C.C.

This is so enlightening if only the young will read it too. I have always been intreigued with Bonsi, but not enogh to try it. I really loved this poem. We maintain our dignity, hover over our losses and mourn the death of light touches of love as we behave so properly.

Astounding the way you use words in that poem! And even before for the little dwarf tree. Were you an English Major?

You are so good at everything you do.
My sis loved your shopping list and wanted to know what iced lollies and winkies are.  She said they sound like something she might like to try.

what a lovely tree it is something to be proud of. I have never tried

Bonzi. perhaps that is the ambition of my Gopher!!!!! We never get too old for the need of human touch of love and loving. It is just that younger people expect us to.
