I see a lot of gardens struggling in my area.

Lovely flowers, beautiful humming birds, a colorful evening light show, and a very content-looking cat . . . what else could anyone want?

Yes is the answer to your question about snow. I can't complain here - we've had a couple of days of refreshing, heavy rain. Everything is showing off the greeen. You two be careful in that heat. Mr. G. has his coat to protect him, of course.

The garden sounds like fun and you trials are the opposite of mine - I am having to work on drainage in my flower beds lest they all drown...

We finally got some rain this morning--a whole two-tenths of an inch.  At least it was measurable and it was so fun to see it come down for a bit before the sun came back out and the heat soared to 100o again.  No chance of any more they say.

What a lovely surprise! Thank you so much for thinking of me.

5 minutes ago Bill's Montclair Floral rang my doorbell and delivered a lovely flower arrangement. I went to my phone to call and thank you, but somehow your # is not there, nor is it on my rolodex, so this is to say thank you for making my day. You are the sweetest people I know! I hope you have an even lovelier day - a little rain, a nice cool evening shower that clears soon so you can enjoy the moon. I love you so much! :)

Kabu what is as wombat I saw one is friendly with a baby Joey, but he does not seem to have any hair. I can't think they climb trees or catch monkeys,or eat roots of the gumbo, gumbo tree.

This summer is very unusual compared to the norm.

If you decide on heat-loving plants this fall, next year will be cool and damp (I hope). Fortunately, gnomes are survivors and will do all right under most conditions. :)

Kabu

My heart goes out to you. After you plant, lovingly water and ooh and awe over the lovely things and then unusual weather comes along and sucks the life out of them it breaks your heart. Sit on the porch and drink some good tea and let nature have her way because she will anyway. I love you guys.

I don't like being first to comment, but I think geraniums would be your best bet. I told you last year to look at other gardens to see what they growing, or ask some old grey panther what sticks it best in his garden. Freesias appear to like the heat, well mine do but it is quite chilly here for some reason. Sadly here Kabu folk appear to be using gravel instead of planting flowers or mowing lawns they need somewhere to park the cars. One day children will think flowers come in plastic from the Supermarket.
