Re: Re: Re: Do these people who float through the adds so perfect ever clean the toilet

Yes, in our house that's me, since Gin's disabled.  I like to cook, though, just like my father.

Ha Ha that's right. In my house the person cooking always looks hot and bothered and how many big family times when I didn't even get to sit down....keeping an eye on what people needed extra and watching that the pudding didn't burn.

Now, THAT ad I understood.

I think I could have made a "Where's the beef?" commercial....maybe.

Re: Do these people who float through the adds so perfect ever clean the toilet

In a way, it's already been done!  Mark Twain - a frontiersman himself - had a lot to say about James Fenimore Cooper's frontier novels.  Among other things, he found it a real hoot how the heroines got though the brush and stuff, wearing their big big skirts.

I always got a kick out of the TV families sitting down - everyone present -  to a carefully set dinner table and chatting so readily about their day.

Do these people who float through the adds so perfect ever clean the toilet

one wonders.

Hey remember those old Cow boy movies where the "girl" rides through the dust and filth or drives a wagon chased by hapless Indiand who "have" to die in the end....and she never gets a spot on her white or a smudge on the face or a hair out of place. Do write about those scenes as well dear brilliant friend.

Re: Sinome

Yes, the lovely stay-at-home wife who was never seen with her hair in curlers and wore lipstick to do the laundry was strange enough, but these party-goers who don't like parties elude me entirely.

Re:lion

I'm at a loss.  Car ads are straightforward - wouldn't you like to own/drive one of these, the housewife with the clean towel has something to brag about, but the fashion ads are inviting us to  a been-there, done-that kind of attitude, or something like that.  Where;s the fun?

Re: CC

Yes, I'm known for my descriptive bowels.  The jury's still out as to what they're describing.  As for looseness, I don't want to go there.

Re:Justi

I wonder about the audience such ads are directed at.

Indeed Bob... that white towel was the symbo of an innocense

( or perhaps a denial) long gone.  Great  post.  xoxo

That's true... I like the perspective here, I think it says a alot abouthow jaded our adverts have become

Apart from a little looseness this was quite an interesting poem Bob. The bowels, sorry I mean the vowels on occasion are warm and descriptive.
