Tamijo,

I will most certainly pray for your beautiful little Granddaughter.  Bipolar is such an ugly illness.  My brother was diagnosed only a few years ago, and it is so hard to watch him suffer.

The frightening and sad fact is that many, many more little ones are being diagnosed with this terribly debilitating illness.  I pray to God that one day, He will allow us to put an end to it once and for all.

My heart goes out to you all.

This is very sad! I have no knowledge in this area, but helping the children live normal, productive lives should be first and foremost for all! I will be praying! sam

Flowers Tamijo .. This is such upsetting news for your family and I will keep your loved ones in my prayers. Perhaps .. going to a childrens hospital doctor would bring diffent results. It seems many doctors are pill pushers even when it involves the children.

Unfortunately this is the third doctor with the same diagnosis for her. I hate it, but maybe such an early diagnosis is a good thing. Brain studies are always continuing and we are learning more each day. I just pray that her life will not be as difficult as I am afraid it will be. I am trying to put her in God's hands and know that he will take care of her.

Re: tamijo

My granddaughter has already seen an MD and regularly sees a therapist. They both suggested the psychiatrist. Unfortunately, I think we are at the end of the line.

I would certainly see a few others like a psychotherapist and an MD, not just a shrink who gets paid to write prescriptions. Alcoholism is an illness not a fault.

My first Husband the father of my boys is Bi Polar. Mild case I believe but

still...He has had episodes during his life that have been unfortunate. Looking back to when we were very young, I believe that he has always had this disorder. although if I was your daughter, I would get a second opinion. Seems to be very young for such a diagnoses. I am sorry to read this though for it is a long tough road to rollercoaster along.
