In fact, I feel just as strongly that Americans abroad need to become aware and adapt their own behavior and expectations to what is the cultural norm where we are!

i love this article ...I have been to Singapore many many times and became

the dear and trusted family member who it is an honour to give bargains to and spend time gossiping with.

but i really appreciated your last lines where if they come to live in our Culture, they should adapt. I have had really apinful manicures and pedicures from people who were doing their job thoroughly, but without thought to their client as a person with feelings.Well written dear.
