What love Jesus had to have--to endure such unspeakable torture, and after all of that, after all His need to shift between back and leg support--to say to the Father,  "Forgive them, for they know not what they do."

One dark night I knelt to pray
and share my troubles from the day.
Overwhelming angst took hold of me
and from my heart I heard my plea
" Jesus, don't you see
Just how lonely one can be?"

Soft and clear His voice came through
"Yes, my child, I really do.
I too in the garden wept
All alone while others slept."

It was then that time turned backwards
And I saw Him through my tears
Kneeling beneath an olive tree
Praying that He might be free.

And it was then I knew we have to pray
Just as Jesus did that day
As He watched the setting sun
"Not my will but Thine be done!"

I am like you in that it really hurts to think of it. However, the beauty is nobody took his life he laid his life down and took it up again for us. He is alive and we can be with him eternally. That is the wonderful part of that.
