I never really paid attention that much to slow winters until I came here and everyone says this is a slow winter with so little snow.  Sorry about that depression, all though my son is a lot older than you and doesnt learn from his mistakes he is going through a depression over the breakup of his last gal and I cant see him, makes me worry

That first rush of emotion can be pretty cruel F,S I remember just a touch and I thought goodness that bites the outcome is usually depression or feeling of anxiety when one remembers that young women used to die of broken hearts, of course if the desire is fulfilled it can all end amicably or tragically, so I think you behaved pretty naturally, but not many sons or daughters I suppose, would have been able to talk of such feelings to their parents. Maybe I'm wrong, one cannot judge or use one's own experiences to formulate a true assessment.Glad you had some joy .

As the others said, support from family is necessary, and precious. Your Dad obviously knows this. You were also using some positive thinking on your own too, so that helped, I'm sure.

I am so glad your Dad was there for you in your time of need! Sorting out a career path, rejection and depression was a lot to deal with! Don't fret on finding the right one, she is out there just waiting to find you, too! I know this to be true because my soldier son thought he would never find anyone and yet he has and a happy man these days! sam
